Welcome

This is Rough Ride, musings and cycling adventures shared by James and Amy Thomas. We ride frequently and our destinations are world wide, but we focus on two areas. We love exploring the Pacific Northwest, mostly Oregon and Washington state. We also bring our bicycles to the meetings I, James, lecture at.

I'm rather fond of teaching and my work/hobby is laryngology, the medical and surgical practice of diagnosing and treating voice disorders. We travel about 2 weeks per month to congresses. When we travel to one of the meetings I am teaching at, we frequently bring our bikes and stay an extra week if possible. This has led to country and mountain rides in Kerala, India; Arunachal Pradesh, India, and Oman, though we also ride in numerous cities with our cycles, for example Kyoto, Seoul, London, Paris, Milan and other wonderful cities.
